Breast Cancer Now Million Pound Ball Resounding Success!

Breast Cancer Now is a cause very close to our heart and one which our Director, Julie Stephenson – Airey, has been fundraising for over 20 years. After having a close family member diagnosed with the illness, she joined the Sutton Coldfield branch of the Charity 21 years ago with a determination to make a difference. In her role as Treasurer and in partnership with her friend Julie Robinson, the current Chair, her passion to raise over £1million culminated in the Million Pound Ball on 13th October at the Park Regis Hotel, Birmingham.

The final figure announced on the night was a staggering £1,027,290.63.

The local branch of the Charity organised the event with over 230 people coming together and the guest of honour was the CEO of Breast Cancer Now, Baroness Delyth Williams.

During the night, which was hosted by MC Jimmy Franks, there was a gala dinner, an auction and silent auction with fabulous prizes, party games with the main attraction being Paul Zerdin, a hilarious ventriloquist who won America’s Got Talent! Later there was a live band which got everyone up dancing to celebrate the final figure raised.

We were kindly supported by Sommer Event Flooring who donated the pink carpet for the stage and Aurora Graphics donated their expertise and graphics. Here at Staging Services, we donated the staging and together we all ensured that the formal part of the evening went without a hitch.

Every penny raised helps and if you would like to contribute, please go to our Virgin Money Giving Page.
