Driver Required


We now require an experienced commercial driver to transport our equipment from our Walsall-based warehouse facilities to conference and exhibition locations around the country.

Suitable applicants will have the following competencies:

  • An entitlement to drive commercial vehicles up to and including 7.5t. [C1 Category]

  • Experienced at driving both large 3.5t panel vans and 7.5t vehicles.

  • A clean driving licence. Minor infringements will be considered.

  • A good understanding of the current tachograph/Digicard regulations.

  • Hold a current CPC qualification card.

  • Have a ‘can do’ attitude.

  • Be physically fit and suffering from no medical conditions which would be aggravated by manual lifting.

  • Have a flexible approach to hours of work and working durations.

  • An appreciation that punctually and achieving deadlines is of the upmost importance.

  • Have a very tidy working disposition.

  • Have an appreciation and understand of the importance of Health & Safety in the workplace.

  • Be prepared to stay away overnight occasionally.

  • Be prepared to work occasional weekends.

  • Able to work within a small team.

  • A continuous desire for both self and company improvement.

  • Exemplary time keeping.

Drivers Job Description;

  • The following is not an exclusive or exhaustive description of the role. Other duties may be requested of the employee if it is believed that they are capable of performing the given task competently and safely.

  • To drive our commercial vehicles from our warehouse premises to various national conference and exhibition venues.

  • To assist in the loading and off-loading of the above.

  • Perform weekly/daily vehicle checks and valet.

  • On occasions to assist in the installation and the removal of our equipment.

Hours of Work:

  • The applicant will require a very flexible approach to hours of work as driving hours are arranged around our event demand which operates 24/7. The “call” times will be advised via our “Call Sheet” which will be communicated via Dropbox to a supplied smart phone.

  • Hours worked will be approximately 37.5 – 48 hours per week.

  • The driver will need to accurately record hours worked on a daily work report.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager.

  • Ensuring that the company’s objectives and Health and Safety policies are maintained at all times.

  • That all company driving and the condition of our vehicles are legal at all times.

  • £ 9.75 for hours worked between 0600hrs – 2200hrs.

  • £14.62 for hours worked between 2200hrs – 0600hrs.

  • 5 hour minimum call out.

  • Out of town payments will be paid in addition to the above when appropriate.

  • Overnight accommodation will be provided as and when appropriate.

  • Four weeks paid holiday plus statutory bank holidays.
